Job Description

The Associate Platform Engineer plays a critical role in both the development and operations of our IT and cloud infrastructure. This position is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing various systems and networks essential to both internal operations and client-facing services. The successful candidate will bring a blend of skills in automation, cloud technologies, scripting, and technical documentation, and will work to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of our infrastructure.

Primary Job Duties

  • Develop, manage, and optimize monitoring solutions for production services, including real-time dashboards and SMS notifications.


  • Manage Linux-based virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and various cloud environments (GCP preferred).

  • Build, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines and templates.

  • Perform server administration tasks and maintain infrastructure components in cloud and on-premise environments.

  • Provide direct support for infrastructure components across corporate, data center, and physician office locations.


  • Support migration projects from on-premise to cloud-based infrastructures.

  • Work with security teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, and PCI.

  • Implement and manage security policies, encryption, and backup solutions.

  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation for all deliverables and responsibilities.


  • Provide troubleshooting, diagnostics, and support for infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Engineer solutions for scalability, reliability, and uptime, including ability to identify and troubleshoot performance issues like memory leaks, processing bottlenecks, database load etc.

  • Operate and administer: Jira, GitLab


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience 


  • Some experience in Linux systems administration, IT infrastructure, or DevOps



  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.).


  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

  • Experience with network devices, cloud collaboration platforms, and security frameworks.


  • Comfortable working in a distributed agile environment.


  • Experience with monitoring tools (Sensu, Logic Monitor preferred)

  • Knowledge of Git

  • Must be willing and able to communicate with the team via webcam, webconf, and phone


  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations

  • Must provide accessibility to private, quiet work space with high-speed internet to effectively work remotely


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with GitLab, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, and other automation tools.


  • Familiarity with VoIP technologies, encryption standards, and email security.

  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and enterprise-level monitoring tools.

The salary range for this role is $68,000 to $85,000 in base pay. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15%. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
