Pine Gate Renewables is looking for a Data & Analytics Solution Engineer to work closely with business leaders and focus on organizational reporting and data analysis to be instrumental in transforming Pine Gate Renewables into a data driven enterprise.  As part of the Data & Analytics department, the Data & Analytics Solution Engineer will become an integral part of the growth and scale of Pine Gate Renewables by using a data driven approach to optimizing the organization’s operations and reaching future goals.

What You’ll Do
  • Practice end-to-end development. Oversee an analytic asset throughout its lifecycle (intake, design, development, continued improvement).
  • Ask critical questions of data and reporting requests to design and build compelling visual narratives for executive and/or operational audiences across the organization.
  • Build new data models and visualizations using best practices. Create sensible facts, dimensions, and measures with a user-friendly semantic layer and visualizations.
  • Work with data management/engineering team and/or technology to build cleansed, normalized, and relevant data assets.
  • Be a key consultative partner to business owners, stakeholders, and leadership across the enterprise. Display curiosity and willingness to explore new functional areas of the business. Engage in data discovery, build relationships with key stakeholders, and make reporting and/or process recommendations.
  • Proactively monitor data quality. Work with stakeholders to recommend process improvements and highlight existing gaps to improve reporting impact.
  • Collaborate internally to build documentation of knowledge assets, share improved efficiencies, and ensure quality control.
  • Identify opportunities for change, process improvement, and enhancements.
  • Balance business collaboration with technical expertise and throughput.
  • Communicate technical terms and decisions in clear business terms. Conversely, translate non-technical asks into programmatic specifications.

Must-Haves
  • At least 5 years of Analytic, Business Intelligence, or Data Management/Engineering experience.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building business intelligence solutions in Power BI or equivalent tool, Power BI preferred
  • Be comfortable diving into new spaces with new stakeholders.
  • Own a request from beginning to end and think critically about what’s needed (identify what they need not necessarily what they ask for).
  • Strong ability to translate business questions into data requirements and business intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to seamlessly navigate between, and effectively communicate with both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience with analytical languages such as SQL or Python.
  • Exceptional data visualization and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented with a passion for quality and excellence.
  • Solid understanding of the data lifecycle and how to turn data into insights.
  • Working knowledge of BI, data governance, and data warehousing/engineering concepts.
  • Experience with SaaS, cloud storage, and multi-cloud environments.

Education and Certifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Power BI Certificate preferred

Working Environment
  • Once a quarter travel to Asheville, NC.
